MPP awarded 13 new innovative seed projects in MPP strategic areas

The MIT Portugal Program has awarded 2023 seed grants to 16 collaborative projects between MIT and Portuguese researchers, for 1 year.  The program awarded grants to support 13 new proposals and 3 projects continued from the previous year. The grants are awarded to researchers from 9 MIT Departments and 1 Program, representing 5 schools and MIT Stephen A. Schwarzman College of Computing, and 11 Portuguese institutions.

The 2023 call for proposals by the MIT Portugal Program welcomed submissions for innovative projects that have the potential to benefit Portugal in one of four core research areas: Climate Science & Climate Change (6 projects); Sustainable Cities (4 projects); Digital Transformation (6 projects) and Earth Systems (3 projects).
