2024 Annual Conference

The MIT Portugal Program (MPP) Annual Conference is a unique opportunity for research interaction between Portuguese and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) researchers, industry members, and other actors of the MIT Portugal Community from areas such as Earth Systems, Sustainable Cities, Climate Change, Digital Transformation in Manufacturing and Data Science.

This year the conference will be held as an in-person event, on Friday, November 8, 2024 at the Quinta das Lágrimas, in Coimbra – Portugal.

The conference theme is “Ideas to Impact,” and its primary goals are to reflect on past achievements, celebrate current successes, and envision the future. For nearly two decades, we have supported innovative projects, promoted top-tier advanced training, and fostered high-profile collaborations that demonstrate the transformative power of science and innovation. This conference will showcase how the ideas of the MPP community have been translated into tangible projects and solutions that make a meaningful impact on society.

One of the key moments of the conference will be a Poster Session showcasing research of the MPP Ph.D. students, Portuguese, and MIT students that are part of the MPP research collaborations. As last year, MPP will reward the work of Portuguese and MIT students via the MIT Portugal Program Poster Award.

The conference will also provide valuable opportunities for networking and exploring potential future collaborations.
