Blue Origin Payload Competition Update
Team EM²C—Jeremy Stroming, MIT, Lígia Fonseca Coelho and Manuel Almeida, IST—just submitted their second iteration of the Payload Data Package to NanoRacks and Blue Origin for review. They should get feedback by next week so they can prepare their final submission by early October!
They’ve made several updates in their hardware design. Manuel recently printed the case for the multi-well tray, drafted an electrical schematic, and designed a plastic case to contain the payload’s electronics.
Lígia and Manuel will arrive at MIT at the end of October and stay into November to work with Jeremy for the final assembly of the payload container. The team will ship the payload to the NanoRacks facility in Houston before it’s delivered to the Blue Origin launch site in West Texas
Their flight will likely occur before the end of the year! Stay tuned for more updates.
