Microgravity and Space Research Under Discussion at Portugal Space Seminar with MPP speakers
Dava Newman MPP Director at MIT and Lígia F. Coelho, MPP student were featured at the Portugal Space seminar:Microgravity Business – Space R&D for the benefit of everyone.
Dava Newman took us on a journey through microgravity and space exploration and the knowledge acquired through 20 years of the International Space Station data. She also discussed astronauts’ performances at microgravity and the space suit she’s developing to keep astronauts healthy and with more mobility – the BioSuit™ .
Lígia F. Coelho talked about Arctic microalgae, microgravity, life support in space, and also shared her experience with the Blue Origin Student Payload Competition.
Held on November 6th, this virtual event focused on the use of Space as an environment of research and development of new medicines, innovative treatments, state-of-the-art medical devices and new materials. The session joined a set of internationally renowned experts who delivered a suite of crucial information about the potential of space exploration in the field of pharmaceutical and medical Research and Development.
