MIT joins FLAD to promote training and research initiatives in the USA
MIT Portugal was present in the second edition of “Estudar e Investigar nos EUA”, promoted by FLAD (Luso-American Development Foundation), for all those interested in conducting a period of academic training at a university or research center in USA.
The session, which took place at the i3S – University of Porto – and University of Minho, allowed participants to clarify any doubts about the funding available, application process and stay at USA.
In this edition, Alexandre Silva, Executive Coordinator – MIT Portugal Program, shared some activities and exciting opportunities of MIT Portugal, such as PhD Scholarships; Sponshorship to MIT Space Tech 2020 and some events like Felice Frankel Master Class about Visual Communication and the Ocean Summer School (more informations soon at www.mitportugal.org). Alexandre Silva, ensured that “MIT is always available to clarify any doubts you may have. So feel free to contact us”.
At University of Minho session, Pedro Arezes, National Director of MIT Portugal Program, highlighted the importance of this experience to our lives and the enrichment in our careers and relations. In this session, it was also possible to hear the personal testimony of Flávia Barbosa, PhD student, that went to MIT, in Boston, for 4 months, that advised to take advantage of this opportunities without fear.
Also present were representatives of other Programs that promote initiatives addressed to Portuguese who want to go to the USA, such as Fulbright Commission Portugal and Carnegie Mellon Portugal Program.
