MPP awarded 2024 innovative seed projects

The MIT Portugal Program has awarded 2024 seed grants to 16 collaborative projects between MIT and Portuguese researchers, for one to two years. These grants support 9 new proposals and 7 projects that are continuing from previous years. The grants are awarded to researchers from 8 MIT Departments and Centers, representing 3 MIT schools, and college, and 9 Portuguese institutions. The 2024 call for proposals by the MIT Portugal Program welcomed submissions for innovative projects that have the potential to benefit Portugal in one of four core research areas: Climate Science & Climate Change (3 projects); Sustainable Cities (3 projects); Digital Transformation (2 projects) and Earth Systems (5 projects), as well as 3 projects in other research areas that aim to benefit to the Portuguese people.
